images for the wildly curious

A dried teasel seed head, backlit, against rain drops on a dark window.

I photograph the overlooked and the just-past-its-best — flowers going over, seed heads, a bird leaving the frame. Drawn to transition and decay more than the bloom, I work spare and unsentimental: I'd rather an image were honest than charming. Curiosity is the method — patient looking, repaid.

Work shown regularly at the Glasgow Gallery of Photography. Based just outside Glasgow.
